Recent Happenings

June 2026
I was commissioned by my long-standing client, Caring Across Generations, for two projects. The first was to design their 2025 Annual Report. It was prepared for print and digital and can be found here.

The second was to create graphics for the 2026 Tribeca Festival where they premiered their feature film Take Me Home and documentary Between Here and Home. My work consisted of social media graphics, email invitations, and large-scale screen graphics.

Caring Across Generations focuses on a topic I care deeply about—caregiving. They work nationally and locally to transform caregiving through culture, narrative, and storytelling.

June 2026
I was invited to be a member of The GRACE Project’s Health & Wellbeing Advisory Board. The GRACE Project is a non-profit organization advocating for better education in Kenya and stands for Global Response to African Children’s Education. The advisory board aims to support and strengthen a scalable school and community centered health and nutrition program so that children have the physical/health resources needed to learn.

The advisory board is international and consists of professionals in education, nutrition, social work, school health policy, and medicine.

May 2026
I was accepted to and attended the Design Writing Fellowship, hosted by Writing Space. The fellowship was the conclusion to a 6-month writing project preparing a journal article based on a teaching innovation conducted in my classes.

What an inspiration it was to spend time with so many brilliant design faculty from around the world! I highly recommend the fellowship to anyone interested in learning more about academic writing in the design discipline.

Fall 2025-Spring 2026
I was nominated and invited to participate in Seton Hall’s Faculty Academy for External Recognitions and Awards—an initiative supported by the Seton Hall Provost’s Office.

Throughout the academic year, I was part of monthly seminars devoted to discussing and workshopping strategies for applying for prestigious awards. I wrote a grant proposal for my original research—to be submitted in December 2026—on the role of visual designers in emergent reading skills.

February 2026
My design work was selected and featured in the Communicator Awards’ 2026 Annual Report of Annual Reports. The yearly showcase features award-winning annual reports along with insights from the AIVA Jury. My work was featured in the “First Impressions Count” section that highlights covers for pulling readers in before turning a page.

November 2025
My abstract proposal, Environmental Print: Designer As Advocate in Early Childhood Literacy, was accepted to the Design Incubation Colloquium 12.1. Acceptances are through a double blind peer review.

Unfortunately, I was unable to present due to a unforeseen conflict.
